IDEG Launch Event Brings Military Esports Leaders to London

Senior military representatives from more than 40 countries gathered in London in December 2025 for the launch of the International Defence Esports Games (IDEG), an initiative backed by the UK Ministry of Defence and delivered by British Esports.

The event featured panel discussions on the benefits of esports for the armed forces and a live Rocket League match between RAF and Royal Navy teams. It also confirmed that Sunderland’s new British Arena will host the inaugural IDEG26 finals from 9 to 11 October 2026, bringing together the top eight competing nations.
